The Grand Route of Côa Valley (GRCV) has the goal of developing the touristic potential of this region. Its strategy is the creation of a route infra-structure unifying the different types of heritage found in this territory.
The GRCV is an attractive feature for tourists who like nature activities, pedestrianism, mountain-biking and horse-riding. Nevertheless, the promotion of the Grand Route as a touristic product depends on a network of complementary services that offer the conditions for the visitors to come, including accommodations, restaurants, tour operators, pharmacies, emergency services, transfers, taxis and horse and bike facilities. Trail maintenance is also an essential aspect to offer a pleasant travel to visitors.
HOW TO HELP?
Any individual or organization can support this project. Neighbors can offer a special help by sponsoring a section of the tracks and being in charge of its maintenance. Volunteers can offer their time to help in maintenance activities such as trail clearing and sign re-paintings.

PARTNERS
As a regional infra-structure, the Grand Route leads to a medium-term and long-term economic impact in the region. That said, it is essential to develop a strategy to keep the project running. We wish to bring together the different stake-holders in this territory to create together a sustainable model to maintain and promote the Grand Route, through the establishment of partnerships with individuals and organizations.
The Grand Route benefits from a funding for two years through the PROVERE Vale do Côa.
